Vacancy at CBM

CBM works in partnership with local civil society organizations, communities, government and in alliance with international organization in Africa and the rest of the world.
CBM’s Country Office, Abuja, is now inviting applications for the position of an

ACCOUNTANT AT CBM COUNTRY OFFICE, ABUJA

Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Objectives: To keep financial records of CBM Nigeria country office (CO), in line with CBM financial regulation and international standard.

BASIC DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

1. To keep all accounting records on daily basis and in chronological manner using the computerized accounting package used by the organization
2. To keep track and record of all the assets and maintain the asset register
3. To control stocks and inventory of the organization
4. To prepare the monthly bank reconciliation
5. To close the accounts every month ad prepare a monthly financial statement to be submitted to the management for decision making
6. To monitor/check the accuracy of the all payment vouchers raised by the cashier
7. To prepare the monthly report for the Ant-Money Laundering Regulation Body in Nigeria (SCUML)
8. To support and advise CBM projects accountability issues, as requested
9. To perform project visits, when requested
10. To dully fulfill any other responsibility assigned by your line management(s)

Minimum Requirements

1. B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, and Business Administration
2. Two to six years of progressively responsible experience in public, private and Ngo accounting
3. Good working knowledge of accounting, financial analysis, budgeting procedures and cash/bank reconciliation
4. Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office programs, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint
5. Excellent skills in any accounting software package such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, Daceasy etc. is required
6. Excellent analytical skill and sound judgment is required. The applicant must be able to carry out all assigned duties with minimum supervision
7. Must be person of dignity, trust worthy, and highly confidential in professional manner
Selection Process:
