MISSION
The domain manager installs and manages the hardware and software equipment of the institution and ensures its growth and maintenance. He assists users in setting up their IT environment for operation.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
To manage and maintain the Computer equipment, software, applications and telecom. To optimize its use.
To manage the cabling: connection, change, maintenance, ventilation, fault detection.
To install, update and configure the Operating System and applications of the user’s environment: desk, services, network.
To monitor daily operation
To apply routine procedures
To assist the Network and Systems Administrator in purchases (PCs, Cabling, Printers, Software), their maintenance and renewal
To define and ensure the institution hardware and software standards for desktops
To ensure technical support to users (Hotline & Helpdesk)
To advise, follow and train users
To participate in Technology Scouting
FUNCTIONAL AND DECISION ENVIRONMENT
Reports to: IT Manager and Network & Systems Administrator.
Supervises: N/A
External Relations: Suppliers, ISP/FAI
Internal Relations: Branches & Head-Office, HORUS Support Accra/ Horus MIS
Participation: Participate in IT Committee
PROFILE
Experience: desired number of years and nature of experience
2 years of experience as a Computer equipment and network Domain manager
Education and area of expertise
A Level + 2 Years: IT Hardware and Network Technician (HND in Information Management, Undergraduate Diploma in Technology (DUT in French) – Networking & Telecommunication)
Skill set
General knowledge of Systems & Networks architecture. IP Network – Cisco CCNA required. Knowledge in Radio and Telecom will be an asset. (HF/VHF radio, satellite communication) ;
Operating Systems (Windows, Linux) ;
Integrate the technology advancement for assistance and Computer equipment management tools. Open Source Tools is an asset (Open Office Suite, Monitoring)
Know standards and recommendations in terms of quality and security
Identify the action level and rank the priorities
Manage relations with users
Fluent English, French is appreciated but not a requisite
Personal skills and abilities
Team work, autonomy, sense of responsibility and organizational skills, rigorous worker
Possible advancement
His responsibilities will evolve with the growth of activities within the institution.
The proposed salary grid could be function of the candidate’s Diploma, prior work experience and the position they apply for.
