Role Summary/Purpose:
As Successor-In-Training for the role of Regional General Manager, Oil and Gas Nigeria the successful candidate will participate in a tailored training and development plan designed to prepare him/her for the role of General Manager for GE Oil and Gas, Nigeria. After successful completion of this development plan which may include an international assignment, the candidate would assume the responsibilities of Regional General Manager.
Essential Responsibilities
Sales Leader
Lead a Regional sales team in Nigeria to determine / create customer needs, solve business problems through consultative approach, develop marketing, sales and strategic business plans and be responsible for delivering revenue on orders targets.
Develop influential relationships with customers and stakeholders at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business from those customers
Provide key leadership in the generation of proposals, Business Selling Team (BST) initiatives, Ecomagination and Six Sigma quality
Integrate the technical support team, including contracts, finance, product support, and others in the implementation of customer strategies
Build relationships for the purpose of business development and sales
Develop strategies, campaign plans, and leadership in their execution
Integrate information, resources, and activities within the country and among regional and P&L organizations.
Responsible for customer satisfaction evaluation, plans, and follow through
General Manager
Provide leadership for Nigeria by managing priorities within the country and partnering with P&L and functional leaders globally to improve the business.
Drive employee training and development and succession planning to develop local talent and support local content development
Support the country with work prioritization to make sure customer and business needs are met.
Provide country and site communications strategy consistent with local and global needs.
Lead compliance and EHS initiatives.
Support business in providing data and presentations to meet GE requirements.
Monitor process, analyze data, and recommend business strategies to minimize cost and improve CM business.
Design, develop, implement, and institutionalize process improvements, focusing on enhanced transactional quality consistent with objectives.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
At least 10 additional years of experience in sales, management, or strategic planning from the Oil & Gas industry.
Fluency in English
Multi-year experience in sales and operations
At least 5 years of leadership experience and proven track record of management and compliance leadership
Desired Characteristics
Lean/Six Sigma Certification
Experience working in multiple countries
Ability to develop influential customer relationships, plans, sales strategies, presentations, and proposals
Strong sales team leadership skills with a successful sales growth track record
Ability to effectively lead a multi-functional team and operate in a matrixed organization

Understanding of GE’s and customer’s financial drivers / needs
