Our client is a large building material manufacturing organization located in the south-south part of Nigeria currently searching for a sound strategic thinker to fill the position of STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER.
JOB TITLE: STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER.
JOB PURPOSE/SPECIFICATION:
- To initiate sourcing for categories/services and equipment required to meet business objectives and needs.
- To establish objectives and targets for categories/services and equipment in conjunction with the Procurement Director.
- To populate master data (classification, naming convention, UOM, safety stock, re-order point, etc) in collaboration with relevant functions.
- To develop 2nd tier of key suppliers for selected categories, equipment and critical spares to support plant
- To ensure that supplier's management activities support the strategic and financial Objectives of the company and mitigate the risks associated with supply.
- To collaborate with all departments in the company in order to optimize effective sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
- To conduct rigorous performance management of the sourcing team and ensure excellent performance.
- To ensure beneficial targets are achieved.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- B.Engr or B.Sc HND in Purchasing and Supply is required for the job. Masters in Business Administration (MBA) would be an added advantage.
- Must possess minimum of 10 years experience in procurement or operation function, 5 years of which must be in sourcing with exposure to supply chain management, complex strategic sourcing and optimal procurement processes.
- Must possess analytical, financial analysis, leadership and communication skills.
- Must possess expertise in supply chain management, company law, contract law, sourcing and procurement standards.
- Must be proficient in the use 01 micro soft word, power point, excel and other relevant packages
