Vacancy At The Kaduna State College Of Education

The College - The Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya was established 1977. It is located in Gidan Waya, jema'a Local Government area of Kaduna State. The College was established to produce quality teachers to assume teaching posts and posts of responsibility in primary and post primary educational institutions and educational administration among others. The College has since been producing quality teachers for the State and other States of the Federation.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of the Provost of Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya in consonance with the provisions of the Kaduna State College of Education, Law 2006 (as amended) on the appointment of a substantive Provost.

Provost

Description
The Provost is the Chief Executive Officer of the College and charged with the day to-day general administration of the College.


Requirements
Candidate for the position of Provost should:

    At least not below the rank of Principal lecturer (from Colleges of Education) and Senior Lecturer (from the University system).
    Possess at least a Master Degree in one of the core subjects offered in the College. A Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage.
    Possess a teaching qualification and must be registered with the Teachers' Registration Council of Nigeria.
    Have spent at least seventeen (17) years of Post-graduate working experience, ten (10) of which must have been spent in teaching and research.
    Produce evidence of academic publications in reputable journals as well as presentations at educationally related conferences, seminars or workshops.
    Must be of good conduct, possess sense of discipline, dedication, drive, resourcefulness and be able to command the respect and loyalty of the members of staff and students.
    Be computer literate.
    Be medically fit for the job.
Condition of Service:

    This is according to the provisions of the law and as obtained in other similar Colleges of Education in the country, the appointment in for a term of four years in the first instance and renewable subject to satisfactory performance for another four (4) years and no more.
    The salary of the Provost is consolidated and the Provost shall enjoy other benefits as may be approved by the Kaduna State Government from time to time.
Method of Application

1.) Application Forms are obtainable from the Bursary Department at the Permanent Site, Gidan Waya at the cost of N5,000.00 only each.
2.) All completed application forms must be accompanied with 15 copies of the applicant's resumes and photocopies of relevant documents.
3.) The resume must be comprehensive giving the details as follows:

i. Full Name (Surname First)
ii. Date and Place of Birth
iii. State of Origin/Local Government
iv. Nationality
v. Marital Status
vi. Number of Children and their Ages
vii. Current Address, GSM, E-Mail
viii. Educational Institutions attended with dates
ix. Academic/Professional qualifications (with class) obtained with dates.
x. Membership of Professional bodies/Associations
xi. Academic/Scholarly publications)well referenced).
xii. Previous employments and posts held with dates.
xiii. Present employment, status and salary.
xiv. Statement of vision for the College in the next four years.
xv. Names and addresses of three (3) referees who are to forward confidential reports on the applicant to the Registrar. The referees should be able to attest to the candidate claims of academic and managerial capabilities as well as their character.
