Chief Operating Officer At Telinno Holdings Limited.

Job description

Group wide Leadership
  • Guides and directs the Leadership Team including GMs, Group (Project, Financial, Human Resource and Marketing Managers)
  • Coaches and develops individual leadership team members
  • Develops a leadership and management succession plan
  • Leads the execution and results of the strategic plan that ensures growth targets are met
  • Actively leads and supports a positive, proactive, results oriented work culture that is regarded by peers and stakeholders as innovative and demonstrative of firm’s values
Marketing/Business Development
  • Works with Group Marketing Manager to ensure the firm’s marketing plan is  consistently executed in support of the growth strategies
  • Directs the development and execution of annual OpCos business forecasts and monitors results
  • Supports development and execution of “strategic accounts” planning process
  • Actively participates in strategic development and pursuit of clients and projects
  • Ensures the firm’s “go/no go” strategies and policies are executed in the best long term interest of the firm
  • Provides visible corporate leadership with potential and existing clients in all market sectors
  • Maintains working dialog with key clients across the group at senior managers and Cxo level          
  • Participates in the development and execution of key project and client presentations    
  • Develops personal relationships/networking opportunities with allied market leaders, consultants and other professionals

Operations
  • Leads the operations of the firm to develop and achieve the targeted key performance indicators
  • Responsible to establish and maintain the “operating results” dashboard/processes and  work with leadership team to make operating adjustments to meet targets
  • Develops and monitors the overall organizational structure of the firm
  • Establishes policies and guidelines for operational excellence and regulatory compliance  
  • including local, state, federal  and international markets
  • Provides guidance and oversight in preparation of project understandings, schedules, budgets, pricing proposals and negotiations
  • Oversees the process for ensuring the proper work plans are in place, scheduling work, staffing and compliance in the execution of projects including resolution between  departments and OpCos.
  • Ensures quality processes are in place for all divisions specific to their project requirements Works with Group Human Resources regarding policies, salary administration, employee benefits to ensure interest and welfare of the employees as individuals are preserved and protected, including performance appraisal process
  • Works with the leadership team for approval of additional staffing based on the strategic and resources planning requirements
  • Ensures there is firm-wide development and training strategy for all personnel
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a firm-wide technology strategy  and infrastructure  to support business operations.
  • Develops and maintains strategic working relationship with vendors and suppliers including execution of major contracts.
  • Leads the development and implementation of a firm-wide internal communication strategy
  • Ensures there is a collaborate work environment within and between all firms offices  regionally and internationally that is inclusive of all stakeholders (internal and external to the firm)

Financial Performance

  • Ensures that the key financial performance indicators are in place to achieve the firm’s  financial performance aligned with the strategic plan
  • Develops and monitors a firm-wide financial leadership team/staff
  • Works with finance team to develop and monitor the annual budget in alignment with  strategic plan
  • Works with the finance team to establish financial polices and guidelines
  • Works with leadership team and finance team to understand key performance indicators for each division as well as their collective impact on the firm
  • Supports the BoD in developing key financial relationships and appropriate compliance requirements
  • Leads the development and execution of mergers and acquisition strategies

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Extensive local knowledge of W.Africa and experience of IT and Telecommunications Industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop/manage high level customer and other key environmental stakeholder relationships
  • Experienced working collaboratively with executive management team and internal key stakeholders
  • Possess excellent communication skills and demonstrates proven capability to build relationships at all levels especially at the CxO level
  • High level of financial awareness Solid research and business foundation to make decisions that are financially sound and provide value to the company’s bottom line
  • Human resource management including proven performance management skills
  • Strategic planning and goal setting
  • Creating budgets and schedules
  • Project coordination, cost benefit analysis, and return of investment comparisons.
  • Analytical and keeps up to date with market and technology trends
  • Consultative sales style, creative thinking with a pragmatic approach
  • Results orientated and highly organized
  • High level of fluency in English written and spoken (French language is an advantage)
First degree in Electrical/Electronic, Computer engineering,  (marketing and financial degrees with experience in telecommunications industry shall be considered)
MBA degree preferred
Over 6 years progressive senior management work experience preferably in a telecommunications operator environment
Excellent knowledge of the B2B customer decision-making and procurement processes.
Direct Reports: General Managers, Group Managers (Sales, Program Management, Technical, Finance and Administration)
Travel Minimal national and international travel only as and when required.
The position shall be based in Lagos, Nigeria
