Well Planning Team Lead
Chevron Nigeria Limited is accepting online applications for the position of Well Planning Team Lead located in Lagos

Position Details:
Education :- Minimum of Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics. Possession of a PHD will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:- Minimum of twenty ( 20) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry out of which fifteen (15) must be as a Well Planner

This is a new leadership role for NMA and will be responsible for developing a well

planning team within the evolving G&G Operations Group. This G&G Operations Group is a subteam of the Subsurface Operations and Analysis (SO&A) Group, and will eventually develop and train local staff in all aspects of well planning . This important step links to our desire to drill deeper and hotter than in the past as well as better assessment and accountability for safety-critical work in and around mature fields by bringing these workflows in-house. The expansion of WC-CPDEP in NMA will include greater familiarity of the VBWO process used elsewhere in CVX and the introduction of the integrated drilling team approach. Good familiarity with these elements and leadership without authority will be key factors for the full scope of this role. Building organizational capability and supporting the SO&A in this important expansion of the group’s role and scope are also key. Earth Scientist to support well design and drilling operations for NMA projects. This person will interpret, characterize, integrate and predict pore pressure, geology, drilling hazards, fracture gradient and wellbore stability profiles that can impact optimum well design and drilling execution for exploratory, appraisal and development wells onshore, offshore and in the Deepwater. This person will also provide geologic technical support to the well site drilling operations team during all phases of operations including oversight of real-time pore pressure evaluation if needed, daily monitoring and analysis of geologic data and reports plus co-facilitation of morning meetings. This position has direct capital stewardship impact on multiple, large($50-150 MM) capital well projects.

Stratigrapher
Position Details:
Education :- Minimum of Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics. Possession of a PHD will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:- Minimum of twenty ( 20) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry out of which fifteen (15) must be as a Stratigrapher.

NMA is seeking for a Reservoir Characterization/Stratigraphy Adviser and Coordinator to guide, help, and standardize current and future stratigraphic interpretation and overall geological characterization of NMA assets, with especial focus in waterflooding and EOR. The successful candidate will lead stratigraphic and reservoir characterization related initiatives at the business unit level, in addition to build local organization capability. The candidate must have vast knowledge in different depositional environments ranging from shallow marine to deep water settings with emphasis in reservoir management and reservoir characterization. Experience in different basins and ability to integrate diverse cross-discipline data sets is essential, including: Integration of seismic interpretation and attributes, well logs, core data, biostratigraphy, and production data. Experience in translating interpretations in 3-D models is desired, including working with Modelers and Reservoir Engineers. The candidate also will help to coordinate ETC resources and contractors to close technical competency and deliverables gaps . In addition the candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, be a strong team player, and a proactive communicator in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams . Responsibilities will also include mentoring, organizing and leading formal training for NMA Chevron employees.

Geological & Geophysical Operations Manager
Position Details:
Education :- Minimum of Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics or Petroleum Engineering. Possession of a PHD will be an added advantage.

Work Experience:- Minimum of twenty ( 20) years experience in the oil and gas industry out of which fifteen (15) must be as a Well Planner and in a leadership position.
This is a new leadership role for NMA and will be responsible for developing a well planning team within the evolving G&G Operations Group. This G&G Operations Group is a subteam of the Subsurface Operations and Analysis (SO&A) Group, and will eventually develop and train local staff in all aspects of well planning . The G&G Well Operations Team Leader will be responsible for the implementation of the Global G&G Operations SOPs and Guidelines into all NMA G&G Well Operations WC-CPDEP work packages. This position will manage the Well Planning Team, and the two Well Site Services Groups supporting 2 Deepwater and up to 3 JV-Shelf/Onshore Drilling campaigns. This position will be responsible for maintaining robust G&G Operations for all NMA Deepwater and Complex Wells drilled in offshore NMA, providing G&G Operations assurance that the wells follow the WC-CPDEP and WellSafe processes.

This is a new role for NMA and is the first step towards developing a well planning arm within the SO&A group which will eventually develop and train local staff in all aspects of well planning . This important step links to our desire to drill deeper and hotter than in the past as well as better assessment and accountability for safety-critical work in and around mature fields by bringing these workflows in-house. The expansion of WC-CPDEP in NMA will include greater familiarity of the VBWO process used elsewhere in CVX and the introduction of the integrated drilling team approach. Under the general direction of the G&G Operations Team Lead, the G&G Operations Geophysicist interprets seismic, structure, well data and drilling records to generate sub-surface drilling hazard analyses (SSDHA) and support the development of pore pressure / frac gradient models for assigned new drills. The Operations Geophysicist will also advise the Operations Planning Team Lead and well project teams on status of seismic processing, borehole geophysical modeling and high resolution seismic or archeological data acquisition. These activities assist the business unit’s drilling performance goals by reducing geologic related non-productive time to increase drilling efficiency while increasing project value in a manner consistent with the company’s health, safety and environmental policies. This person may also have the opportunity to travel offshore to deepwater drilling rigs as needed to assist the wellsite geologist in geophysical operations on Deepwater and other NMA operated wells.
