VDT Communications is recruiting to fill the position of:



IT Developer/Support Officer


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the in-house software development and design, website design and support, creation of special report using third party reporting tools, like crystal report.
Create efficient, scalable, reusable middle tier logic using any of ASP. NET, VB. NET, XML, PHP, C# and other languages as needed.
Create intuitive, logical and dynamic user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, and AJAX.

Create and design databases, views, stored procedures, SQL statements and user defined functions in SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 and Oracle
Manage Microsoft Windows 2003/2008/2013 Server, IIS, COM+ and MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 with regards to administration and performance tuning.
Very good knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Lync and Exchange Servers
Assist in continual improvement of Network monitoring software hosted on Linux platform.
Develop and administer plug-ins to the monitoring tools to render critical reports for decision making
Familiarization with Zabbix, Cacti and Nagios platform is an added advantage
Be familiar with Sage ERP Solutions ie. Salesforce, Evolution, VIP/Payroll
Assess, troubleshoot, document, upgrade and develop maintenance procedures
Review code for potential performance issues, reusability, and/or anomalies.
Detail unit testing of code, Troubleshoot client problems both remotely and onsite.
Research and identify cause of reported defects and issues
Develop patches and defect fixes.
Perform and assist with quality assurance activities as needed.
Participate in training and/ or customer support activities as needed.
Backup/Recovery strategy of Database, VM Servers, Windows etc.


Requirements

Minimum of BSc or HND Computer Science, Electrical Electronic, Computer Engineering, or any related field.
Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience in similar industry
Experience using typed datasets is critical.
Programming and development skill in CH. ASP. net, VB. Net, PHP, MSSQL, Web design and Sharepoint, with a good understanding of Microsoft line of products.
Certification

MCITP, ITIL, MCSD, OCA etc.




Customer Service Officer


Responsibilities

Receive and resolve fault calls at first level of trouble shooting and document appropriate processes taken to resolve fault.
Ensure that both an appropriate and adequate investigation takes place in all cases. This includes the recording of all communications between the various parties.
Take full responsibility for handling customer’s complaints, queries and requests establish and maintain good working relationship with customers
Responsible for orderly 2nd level fault handover to Field Services Engineer (FSE) and follow up to ensure that open ticket is successfully closed within SLA limit
Generate necessary periodic reports for both internal and external use.


Requirements

BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or Social Sciences.
2 years plus experience in Customer Service for an ISP
Male preferably, should be able to work during off peak period and night duty
Successful candidate must be able to work under pressure, maintain a cheerful disposition and possess strong analytical and communication skill
Personal knowledge of IP networks in data communication organization




Rigger Technician

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be responsible for assisting the Network Engineer /PoP head in the coordination and organizing all technical activities in the PoP including timely implementation of projects, resolution of escalated faulty links and installation of new links.
Requirements

OND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
1-2 years’ experience in similar industry
Possess good communication and analytical skills
Ability to carry out rigging activities is an added advantage




Service Deployment Officer

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be responsible for assisting the Service Deployment Manager in the discharge of the following functions:
Ensure all project requirement are collected before the commencement of any project
Ensures customer’s expectation is realigned to meet project scope
Ensure correct equipment and materials is sent to Field Engineer for project deployment
To act as verifier on all installed link to the customer
Confirm that standard is met by receiving documents on installation done at remote locations
Ensure strict compliance of all installation in relation to approved design
Ensure customers’ project installation is achieved within agreed time frame
Ensure the expectations of the customers are met in timely delivery of projects
Ensure that all project installation passes quality test to meet the approved standard in relation to customer’s expectation
Communicate project update to all stakeholders
Promptly obtain sign off forms from clients for all new installations for billing and revenue leakage avoidance
Ensure project completion report is sent to the client and document at SDU.


Requirements

HND/B.Engr. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
Must possess good communication skills both oral and written
Reasoning and project management skill
2 years post NYSC experience in similar industry.




Quality Improvement Officer

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be responsible for assisting the Head Quality Improvement in the discharge of the following functions in the attainment of our corporate objective:
To assist in ensuring the quality management system is established, implemented and maintained and continually improve its effectiveness in accordance with ISO 9000 standards
To assist in ensuring that processes needed for the quality management system is determined and its application throughout the organization
To assist in ensuring that criteria and methods are clearly defined to ensure both operation and control of processes is effectively performed
To assist in ensuring that all documents needed for the quality management systems is established and adequately defined prior to issue and use.
To assist in ensuring all audits check are properly carried out and closed accordingly
To assist in ensuring that all faults or non-conformities are properly rectified and prevented from recurring
To assist in measuring compliance rating of department and staff.


Requirements

HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering/ Computer Science/ Social Science
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Sound analytical and presentation skills
Sound verbal and written communication skills
Excellent disposition and interpersonal relations
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 will be an added advantage
2 Years working experience in similar position




Procurement Officer

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain documented standards for procurement governance and procurement processes which result in value for money outcomes and minimise procurement risk.
Provide operational support and advice to management and staff in relation to procurement, contracting and contactor management.
Managing the recordkeeping requirements of the tender and contracting processes.
In consultation with the Risk Management Officer, ensure contractors and suppliers have appropriate insurance and Work Cover at all times.
Manage contracts assigned to the position to ensure compliance with specifications and service delivery standards.
Facilitate expenditure reviews to identify opportunities to add value through improved procurement.
Develop and maintain a preferred supplier database and ensure on-line information is available to staff;
Develop and maintain a reporting system for contractor and supplier performance;
Develop and maintain a reporting system which measures the contribution of the procurement process;
Analyse the purchase request from the user departments and determine the appropriate method of procurement, Quotation, Tender and Request for Proposal.  Provide assistance to user departments, when required, in the preparation of specifications, etc.
Collaborate with vendors, and technical experts in preparing specifications for Quotations, Tenders, Proposals and Supply Agreements in a clear and concise manner.
Coordinate the preparation of the procurement documents, utilizing sound sustainable procurement practices, while adhering to corporate policies and government legislation prior to issuing the public tender.
Prepare contract with vendor and maintain contract after award, ensuring that all documents are kept current and complete. Confer with suppliers regarding delivery, quality, etc. to ensure that the requirements are met.
Monitor contracts and vendor performance and consult with vendors and/or user departments to implement corrective action when required.
Arrange for samples, testing and evaluation of new products.  Collaborate with staff on new standing agreements, ensuring staff awareness of product lines of new suppliers.


Requirements

HND/BSc in any Social Science; possession of professional certification in Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or Chartered Purchase and Supply , National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), will be an added advantage.
A high level of individual initiative, planning and good judgment.
Demonstrated ability to make judgment calls and decisions with respect to procurement activities, within delegated authority,
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues.
Concentration, accuracy and attention to details are required, must have flair for figures
Personal integrity and excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing to deal effectively with the public and staff.
Minimum of three (3) years in similar position and industry.




Accounts Payable Officer

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:
Processing of incoming invoices for the payment of suppliers and vendors
Maintenance of up-to-date vendor balances and end of month aging analysis
Overall expense administration vis-à-vis  imprest and other claims administration
Ensure that all payments, disbursement and reimbursements are correctly batched and posted to the General Ledger on Sage Pastel Evolution.


Requirements

HND/BSc in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration
Amiable individual with pleasant personality
Ability to pay attention to details and have flair for figures
Ability to work well with ERP and handle pressure
2 years’ experience in similar position
