AFRIKA KOMMT!

Initiative of German Industry for Future Leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa

AFRIKA KOMMT! (AFRIKA IS COMING) is a joint initiative by leading German companies that is aimed at capacity building among you8nd and highly qualified professionals from Sub-Saharan Africa.

The programme comprises a 12-month stay in Germany, including both a 9-month internship in one of the participating companies and a 3-months language course. The practical training gives participants the opportunity to gain first-hand experience regarding management practices and economic, social and organizational change processes in the respective company. ‘The skills acquired will enable them to establish networks between partners from their home companies and German companies.

QUALIFICATION/LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE

·         University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. mechanical, chemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, industrial, electrical, automotive), Business Administration, Sales or Marketing; computer Science)

·         Postgraduate degree (e.g. MBA) is an advantage

·         Two to five years of relevant work experience

·         Excellent English language skills

·         Intercultural competence, openness to new experience and willingness to learn German

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

·         Airfare to Germany (roundtrip)

·         Travel and accommodation costs in Germany

·         Living allowance

·         Coverage of health insurance, accident insurance and liability insurance

·         Fees for German language courses

·         International Management Training (IMT) courses

·         Relocation fee

Successful candidate will be invited to an assessment centre in Nairobi in February 2013.
