HSE MANPOWER REQUIREMENTS

Our client is a multinational Oil and Gas company with strong bases in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja as the corporate office. The company has strong history of operations in Nigeria and due to expansion in the actvities in their onshore and offshore fields, HSE Professional service opportunities exist on contract basis for ambitious and result oriented individuals in the following technical areas;

1.       Job Positions: SAFETY ENGINEER (Design Engineering) 

The position will have significant impact on the safety design of the facilities for crude oil exploitation. The candidate will have a good knowledge of Safety studies to be implemented at the design stages of production facilities.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B.Eng in any Engineering discipline with minimum of Second Class Division

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 7 years working experience in Safety Engineering function.

·         Must have a good knowledge of the applicable standards in safety studies

·         Must have very good knowledge of risk assessment techniques and management (HAZOP, HAZID, HAZAN, QRA, SIL assessment reability studies etc) and other safety engineering reviews

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power Point, Publisher etc)

·         Good communication and organization skills

·         Must have analytical and evaluation skills.

2.       Job Positions: TECHNICAL SAFETY ENGINEER

The position will have significant impact on risk evaluation of the operational sites for continuos monitoring of risk reduction and control measures. The position will also have significant loss prevention management responsibilities by providing safety engineering input in particular hazard identification, risk assessment and technical audits.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Eng in Chemical or mechanical Engineering with a minimum of Second Class Division. A Masters Degree in chemical or Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.    

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 7 years HSE experience of which 5 years must be in a similar job position

·         Experience on Construction or operated sites

·         Recognised level of knowledge in production process and/or oil and gas exploitation discipline

·         Thorough knowledge of Loss Prevention standards and procedures and major hazards management

·         Thorough knowledge of risk assessment techniques and management (HAZOP, HAZID, HAZAN, QRA, etc) and other safety engineering reviews.

·         Professionally trained in recognised HSE Management System standards (OHSAS, 18001:207 etc)

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power Point, Publisher etc).

3.       Job Positions: HSE ENGINEER

The position will have significant impact on HSE performance drives and Contractor HSE Management for continuous  improvement in HSE awareness and compliance.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Eng/HND in any Engineering discipline with minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level

   

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 5 years working experience in HSE practices on operated site or constuction sites/yards.

·         Membership of the Nigerian institute of safety professionals or order safety professional bodies is added advantage

·         Must have good knowledge of the applicable standards in safety studies

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power Point, Publishers, etc)

·         Good communication and orgnisation skills

·         Must be persuasive with ability to influence other operations.

4.       Job Positions: HSE SUPT,

The position will have significant impact on HSE performance improvement drives at site and HSE management of contractor’s intervention works. The position will provide leadership to HSE team’s actvities on site and support to the Oil Installation Manager.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Eng/HND in any Engineering discipline with minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level

   

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 8 years working experience in HSE practices on operated site or construction sites/yards

·         Membership of the Nigerian institute of safety professionals or order safety professional bodies is added advantage

·         Must have good knowledge of the applicable standards in safety studies,

·         Good knowledge of production process and/or oil and gas exploitation discipline

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power Point, Publisher etc)

·         Good communication and organization skills

5.       Job Positions: HSE SUPERVISOR, (Sites, Office Base and Rigs)

The position will have significant impact on HSE performance improvement drives through the implementation of HSE control  measures for injury free activities. This will include monitoring of contractors work execution and worksite hazards identification and control.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. sc/HND in any Engineering discipline or related Science discipline with minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level.

   

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 5 years working experience in HSE practices on operated site or construction sites/yards

·         Membership of the Nigerian institute of safety professionals or order safety professional bodies is

·         Added advantage

·         Must have good knowledge of the applicable standards in safety studies,

·         Good knowledge of production process and/or oil and gas exploitation discipline

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power Point, Publisher etc)

·         Good communication and organization skills

·         Must be persuasive with ability to influence other operations

·         Exposure in drilling activities will be added advantage (applicable to Rig Safety Supervisors only)

6.       Job Positions: HSE PERFORMANCE ANALYST & REPORTING ENGINEER

The position will act as a focal point for HSE performance review and reporting functions. This wil include interfacing with other entitie for data input.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Sc/HND in any Engineering discipline or related Science discipline with minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level.

   

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 3 years working experience, of which one year must be in the oil and gas industry

·         Professionally trained in recognised HSE Management systems and Environmental Management Systems standards (OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 19011)

·         Studio and Analytical mind and good knowledge of statistical analysis

·         Need to be a team player, rigorous and objective

·         Need to have good presentation skills

·         Excellent computer skills in particular proficiency in the use of word, Excel and Power Point

7.       Job Positions: INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE OFFICER

The position will have significant impact in the implementation of Industrial Hygiene procedures and regulatory compliance monitoring for healthy work environment and practices.

QUALIFICATION:

·         Bachelor of Science B.Sc) degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry (Analytical/Industrial), Biochemistry or related discipline with minimum of Second Division. A Masters Degree in Occupational Safety and Health wil be added advantage.

   

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, of which 3 years should be in sampling and analytical duties.

·         Good knowledge of analytical standards and protocols (WHO, ASTM, APHA etc) will be an added advantage

·         Studios and Analytical mind and good knowledge of contamination and pollution issues and health

·         Need to be a team player, rigorous and objective, reliable and orgnised with positive attitude

·         Excellent computer skills in particular proficiency in the use of Word, Excel and Power point

·         Work under limited supervision and function in a team environment.

8.       Job Positions: ENVIRONMENT ENGINEER 

The position will have significant impact in the enhancement of Environmental MS review, Environmental Studies, ISO14001 certification of facilities.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Sc in chemical and Agricultural Engineering with minimum of Second Class Division Masters in Environmental Management or Sciences will be an added advantage.

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 7 years working experience, of which 4 years should be spent in the oil and gas industry on environmental related duties

·         Good knowledge and practice of Nigerian Regulations such as EGASPIN and MSOR

·         Very good level of Training, Communication, Analytical, Computer knowledge and presentation skills will an added advantage. 

·         Good persuation skill is essential for interfacing with site, project teams, regulatory authorities and other stake holders

9.       Job Positions: ENVIRONMENT OFFICER

The position will have significant impact in the enhancement of Environmental Guidelines and Standards as well as compliance monitoring of the company production actvities.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. Sc in environmental sciences/applied sciences/Geoscientist with minimum of Second Class Division.

Professional Experience

·         Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience, of which 3 years should have been spent in the oil and gas industry on environmental related duties

·         Very good level of Training, Communication, analytical, Computer knowledge and presentation skills will be added advantage

·         Good persuation skill is essential for interfacing with site, project teams, regulatory authorities and other stake holders

10.   Job Positions: HSE Training Assitant  

The position will have significant impact on HSE competence development and HSE awareness drives for HSE performance improvement. The position will all also assure the quality of HSE training delivery through training follow up, audits, training feedback analysis and data management

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. sc/HND in any Engineering discipline or related discipline or social sciences with minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level.

   

Professional Experience

·         At least 3 years working experience in related function

·         Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals or order safety professional bodies or will be added advantage.

·         Must be computer literate with good communication and orgnisation skills

·         Must be persuasive and assertive to ensure compliance to training requirement. 

11.   Job Positions: HSE Audit & Inspection Engineer  

The position will have significant impact in the HSE Mgt System and Service Quality audits and status update as well as assurance of third part equipment conformity through pre-mob inspection.

QUALIFICATION:

·         B. sc/HND in Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of Second Class Division/Credit Level. Background of Electrical Engineering will be an advantage.

   

Professional Experience

·         Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a certified inspector

·         Must be computer literate (Words, Excel, Power point, Publisher etc)

·         Good communication and organisation skills

·         Must be persuasive with ability to influence other parties.
