Head Finance/Administration at a Leading International Non-Governmental Organization

We are a Leading International Non-Governmental Organization working  in the  area of HIV and AIDs care and  treatment. We require  the services of  resourceful,  experienced and  dynamic candidates to fill the vacant position of Head, Finance & Administration in our  organization.

Location: Abuja


Roles and Responsibilities




the position is responsible for managing  the financial and administrative aspect of the organization’s activities in Nigeria including oversight on the financial aspects of all donor awards to ensure  that financial transactions  comply with the  requirements and regulations of parent institution, United States Government and other donors; developing , managing  and periodic reporting on organizational budget





budgets and day-to-day financial transactions; participating in strategic  planning meetings and taking the lead in providing all financial input into   organizational   plan   and   programs;   designing   and   implementing   administrative, financial and human resource processes and systems in line with parent organizations requirement and best practices; responsibility for ensuring that the existing policies and procedures of the organization’s operations in Nigeria adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures   (SOPs)   of   the   parent   institution;   providing   supportive   supervision and mentoring to the finance coordinator and administrative coordinator respectively.




Minimum Requirements: Education and Experience

Applicants must have a  bachelor s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field; Masters degree preferred. (Significant and directly related experience may be substituted for the degree requirement). Chartered Accountant i.e ACA , ACCA, CPA etc;
Minimum ten years of relevant work experience with a  minimum of seven years of work experience in the international  NGO context;
Demonstrated experience with United States Government financial rules and regulations related to grants and contracts;
Knowledge of accounting principles and techniques; Demonstrated experience in analyzing and interpreting financial data;
Strong  supervisory and  management skills;
Demonstrated  experience in the  supervision of finance and administrative staffs; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision; fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English; Strong computer spreadsheet and word processing skills.


General Requirements

All positions require candidates that are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Internet/Emails. Significant amounts of travel required for all positions.
