Vacancies: Program Coordinator, Program Officer

The Population Council Is an international, non-profit, non-governmental institution that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and help achieve a humane, equitable and sustainable balance between people and resources. The Council’s major program areas are HIV and AIDS, reproductive health and poverty, gender, and youth. The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries. The Population Council has works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions. Due to expansion of its activities, the Council is seeking qualified individuals to fill the positions below:



Position:     Program Coordinator (BCC and Advocacy)

Location: Abuja



The successful candidate will coordinate the implementation of a communication strategy to effectively influence behaviour change at the individual, community and policy levels



Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have:

    * Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
    * Master’s in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health is preferred.
    * Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in public policy, non-profit management, or related field.
    * Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required, Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
    * High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
    * Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write dearly and succinctly under time ore and to make well organized verbal presentations.

Position:     Program Officer

Location: (South) – Lagos

The successful candidate will assist in coordinating and managing the Men’s Health Network, Nigeria (MHNN) program and field activities in Southern regions.



Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have:

    * Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
    * Master’s in Health Policy, Public Administration, or Public Health is preferred
    * Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in public policy, non-profit management, or related field.
    * Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
    * Ability and willingness to travel within the country and across the region on a regular basis
    * High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
    * Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure and to make well organized verbal presentations.
