Job Title: IPP Developer

Location: Nigeria

Job Description

• Energy Solutions is looking for an energetic experienced IPP Developer with international experience to lead designated development activities.
• The role will be responsible for all aspects of developing projects from origination to financial closing.

Responsibilities 
In this position your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Create and identify opportunities in cooperation with regional sales teams
• Manage assigned IPP projects with responsibility for all project development and financing aspects from origination to financial close, in line with Wärtsilä’s strategies, directives and acceptable risk profiles
• Ensure that projects undertaken are sustainable and financeable in a timely manner while limiting risk exposure to Wärtsilä
• Negotiate project and financing agreements
• Lead due diligence process, project structuring, partner identification, bidding, contract negotiations, debt financing, and the financial close process
• Work with internal and external experts (technical, financial, legal, environmental, etc.) in order to maximize the competitiveness of Wärtsilä solutions
• Prepare information memorandum, manage equity marketing and successful sale of equity
• Establish special purpose companies (SPC) as needed
• Provide asset management services as needed including participation at Board level where Wartsilä has equity investments in ongoing projects

Requirements
As a preferred candidate you would have:

• Hands-on mind-set, high energy, ability to manage complexity
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Strong team focus with cultural sensitivity
• Good understanding of project finance, IPP bankability, and contract negotiation
• Fluent in written and spoken English. French skills a strong advantage.
• Experience in working with senior decision makers (CFO, CEO, VP, President, Energy Ministers etc.) in the power sector
• Experience in end to end greenfield development and financing of IPP projects
• Knowledge of the power industry
