An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and proactive Drill Rig Electrician to become part of the team of a renowned mining company that is based in the West African region.
Position: Drill Rig Electrician (Maintenance / Repairs)
Requirements: Qualification(s) and Skill(s)
- Trade Tested Auto Electrician or Diesel Mechanic.
- 5 years’ experience in the electrical maintenance of drill rigs in the mining industry.
- Drilling certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of drilling experience.
- Training qualification advantageous (Train the Trainer etc.)
- Safety qualification advantageous.
- Previous experience as an expatriate in Africa, providing training and mentoring to a multi-cultural team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on Drill Rigs.
- Ensure availability and reliability of Drill Rigs.
- Identify Drill Rig Electrical problems.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are undertaken in accordance to prescribed quality standards.
- Adhere to company and departmental practices and policies.
- Prioritize custom alterations to Drill systems.
- Provide support to Production team to ensure continued achievement of production targets.
Contractual information:
- Long term contract.
