Marketing and Communications Consultant(s)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise senior management on communications and marketing strategies for African markets, crisis management, and reputation management topics;
- Develop strategic communication and marketing programs aligned with client’s goals and generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure programs success;
- Develop media relations strategies and deliver results;
- Deliver and edit press releases, by-lines, case studies, fact sheets and other media materials;
- Plan and implement special events such as press conferences, media roundtables, etc;
- Efficiently work with and manage partners and suppliers, ensuring successful project execution;
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and specifications
- The ideal candidate(s) will have achieved a good first degree from a respected university; ideally in marketing and communications;
- The ideal candidate(s) has at least 2-3 years of communications and marketing experience in the private sector in Africa, local or national government or international organization;
- Fluency in English and Portuguese is required;
- Experience in a communications agency with exposure to client from the public sector or large companies is also welcome;
- Have strong financial management skills and instincts;
- Be willing to undertake regular travel.
The successful candidate will reside in sub-Saharan Africa (Angola, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique preferably) and, in addition to frequent travel in Africa, will also be required to visit Europe and the Middle East on a regular basis. The person(s) will ideally know the above mentioned key markets well and have a good understanding of the business culture and media landscape.
