Education and Learning Development Manager
Description :
The Education & Learning Manager will be responsible for developing business and maintaining relationships with universities and Approved Learning Providers (ALPs)
Specifically, the job will deliver:
Increased number of universities with accredited programs and schools with Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) embedded into their curriculums
Increased number of Computer Based Exam (CBE) centres in the country
Increased numbers of university students and graduates registering
Improved conversion rates
Progress with recognition among university students
The role requires significant collaboration with universities’ leadership (Deans or Heads of faculties), ALPs, Education Team based at central headquarters (CHQ) and Head of Education and Development for West Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a nation-wide plan to grow the number of accredited universities which will overtime provide quality tuition
Increase the number of exemptions within selected universities in key states in Nigeria , support them in the accreditation process and, by definition, recruitment of students
Increase the number of colleges with FIA embedded programs and, by definition, increase the number of A Level students for the FiA programme
Secure at least one CBE centre in each key state in Nigeria
Assume ownership for all key university relationships in Nigeria with the target of growing the number of local students and graduates progressing through the qualification.
Build awareness of the brand and value proposition within this key stakeholder group
Improve quality tuition at the accredited universities focussing on actively engaging professors to attend “train the trainers” initiatives
Negotiate marketing activities and plans and incorporate promotional ideas into university and learning provider plans
Work with the media to ensure the accreditation is taken into consideration in education rankings
Promote the job fairs and other events and workshops at major universities. Put in place improved channels of communication between the Learning Directorate and key universities and other relevant stakeholders
Develop network of ALPs in Nigeria and ensure that outstanding service and support is provided to them
Provide ALPs with information on changes or updates to administration processes related the qualifications
Co-operate closely with ALPs on qualifications promotion. Participate in ALPs presentations for students
Monitor ALPs performance in order to ensure the highest standards of tuition
Provide a key point of communication and dialogue with ALPs for the introduction of e-Assessment
Other
Work very closely with the Head of Nigeria to provide vital contributions to business plans, budgets and forecasts
Prepare required reports and information
Key Metrics:
This role will report directly to Head of Nigeria (and have a dotted reporting line to the Head of Education & Development, West Africa),have direct reports and be expected to work with all other staff in the Nigeria office
The role is accountable for developing and implementing a nation-wide plan for the University landscape as well as for supporting ALPs
Qualifications :
Be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, and have substantial relevant work experience in development, promotion and delivery of accountancy training.
Show an awareness of, and interest in, the changing environment of accountancy training and education worldwide
A solid understanding of the issues and challenges facing education systems in Nigeria, ideally, within the University landscape
Possess an innovative and imaginative approach to education and teaching methodologies and issues.
• Have proven experience and success in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
• Experience of successfully operating in a B2B professional environment
Have practical experience of managing projects, preferably within an educational or training environment
• Be able to work under pressure, on own initiative and within agreed budgets
• Be able to demonstrate well developed written and verbal communication skills
