SAB Miller South Africa recruit for the position of an African Packaging Project Analyst. The Africa Packaging Projects Analyst works in cooperation with the Global and Regional Projects Team to support the PMO function across packaging initiatives globally, share packaging project ways of working and best practices, support packaging project analytics and assist with the co-ordination of Packaging Strategic calendar.

1.Company Overview
Trinity Procurement GmbH (“Trinity”) was formed to manage the global procurement activities of SABMiller plc, one of the world’s largest brewers with brewing interests and sales and distribution agreements spanning six continents.

Located in Steinhausen in the Canton of Zug, Switzerland, Trinity creates value for its customers and investors through excellence in procurement across an extensive range of commodities and components, including brewing materials, packaging materials, capital equipment, marketing materials and other assets and business consumables and services.

Whilst the operation is centred in Zug and Trinity will provide the strategic leadership of the business, the organisation also comprises three regional teams dispersed across the international customer and supplier network. Forming part of the overall international matrix structure, these teams are located in Johannesburg (South Africa), Miami (USA) and Baar (Switzerland). When fully established, the business is expected to employ in excess of 120 staff, representing a highly complex, multi-cultural workforce comprised, in many instances, of international leaders in their procurement field. Trinity will be characterised by its intellectual and analytical rigour, strategic focus backed up by executional excellence and relentless drive for value creation for its customers.

The creation of the required structures to support this global procurement organisation and to develop the optimal sourcing strategies is now well underway. A critical component of this focuses on securing, retaining and developing the required talent referred to above and developing and embedding an appropriate employment infrastructure and culture to underpin the fulfilment of the company’s highly demanding goals.

3. Key Responsibilities
The Africa Packaging Projects Analyst is supporting the Regional Packaging Project Manager on monitoring and reporting on the Packaging Projects in Africa, on analytic support for these projects and on manage the team’s best practice intelligence.

Stakeholder alignment
Support the Regional Project Manager & Global Project Manager in the identification of key stakeholders in the initiation & execution of the projects
Engage with packaging project members and stakeholders as defined in alignment with the Regional and/or Global Projects Manager throughout the project lifecycle process
Ensure that the input from the wider project team and stakeholders is considered and embedded in the process
Support preparation of packaging project communications: reports & presentations as needed

Africa Packaging Project support
Africa Packaging Project PMO Globally:
Support regional project managers in compiling reports monitoring progress of projects against deliverables using appropriate tools ( e.g. Update regional project status jointly with RPMs on mthly basis)
Present regular reports defining project progress, problems & solutions , and share with appropriate stakeholders: GPD, GPM, GPAs & RPMs
Inform & engage with Global Manager & Director on status of projects, raise issues as soon as surfaced
Support the Regional Packaging Projects Manager in analysis as needed (e.g. value chain; portfolio streamlining transparency and financial analyses etc)
Support data collection and analysis to identify and deliver projects that target technical (e.g. specifications engineering and standardisation) and process (e.g. supply chain optimisation) value levers
Compile streamlining transparency as input to portfolio optimization projects, liaising with countries or regions as appropriate for input
Support Africa Portfolio Optimization streamlining idea and premiumization creativity sessions internally and with suppliers – preparing presentations and workshop materials as well as sharing best practice material from previous workshops
Provide support to regions and countries on a case-by-case basis local/regional skill gaps (bring specific project knowledge learnt from a previous project work in another Africa country)

Manage packaging project knowledge in Africa
Secure knowledge transfer and exchange by storing and maintaining packaging projects best practices as developed by Regional Packaging Projects Managers, project deliverables and templates in the knowledge repositories
Pro-actively engage with Africa Regional Category Managers & Regional Project Manager discussing lessons learned to update knowledge base with case examples, and transfer knowledge from one region to another region and share with internal stakeholders
Maintain, update and promote the Africa Packaging features database, engaging with packaging team and internal contacts in regions, and share with stakeholders as appropriate

Packaging Project Management
Perform Regional Packaging Project support activities for projects with limited complexity
Provide support to regions and countries on a case-by-case basis to offset local/regional skill gaps (bring specific project knowledge learnt from a previous project in another region)
Support regional Portfolio Optimization streamlining idea and premiumization creativity sessions internally and with suppliers – preparing presentations and workshop materials as well as sharing best practice material from previous workshops

Support Africa Packaging Strategic Planning
Co-ordinate & share the Africa Packaging calendar & key milestones including:
Business Planning timelines,
Finance calendar (Price Guidance, Budget & PFs),
Trinity Value Realization meetings
Africa Project status meetings
Track status against milestones with support from Regional Packaging Project Manager to ensure Packaging delivers

4. Competence and Qualification Requirements

4.1 Knowledge and Experience Required
Academic background: appropriate University/bachelor degree qualification is essential, with procurement and/or finance background. A recognised qualification in procurement would be considered an asset
Experience: Knowledge of packaging spend and specifications is preferred, with professional experience (preferred min, 1-2 years) in the same functional domain or other related positions, preferably working in an international environment.
Language skills: Proficiency in English essential.
