ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Directly reports to: Head, Operations and Development

Supports:  

Supervises: Hydrocarbon Accountant, Production Operations Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
The Production Operations Manager is responsible for the expenditure of development projects and the maximization of the asset value by way of production optimization.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
•Production engineering, including experience with project identification, evaluation and economics;
•Well completions, remedial work design, production enhancement and optimization;
•Managing overall profitability of assets.
•Take responsibility for the given asset throughout its lifecycle
•Accountable for the initiation of the exploration development process, the review, selection and approval of conceptual designs;
•Expenditure for the development projects and maximisation of the asset value by way of production optimisation.
•Accountability for meeting financial targets as well as providing top level support to field managers

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
•Production uptime
•Adherence to production targets
•Efficient safe operations
•Trouble free maintenance
•Levels of understanding of the requirements and performance field studies such as field development planning, material balance, etc
•Quality of technical reports prepared
•Demonstration of ability to be a team player
•Demonstration of supervisory and mentorship skills
•Levels of participation in technical events such as training and conferences

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
•12 - 15 years work experience with direct experience in Oil and Gas Industry.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
•Candidates should possess the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment emphasizing technology, individual responsibility and entrepreneurial drive and
vision.
•Proven knowledge of developing and sustaining both economical and managerial relationships, along with significant experience in the management of operational departments for the production of oil and gas with a strong financial focus.
•Must possess written and oral communication skills appropriate for position.
