Regional Health Coordinator
Established in 1949, SOS Children’s Villages is a dynamic social development organisation working globally to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children. SOS Children’s Villages international is the umbrella organisation that provides support and guidance to SOS member associations in over 132 countries worldwide. The Regional Office for Central and West Africa of SOS Children’s Villages in Yaounde, Cameroon is in the process of recruiting a Regional Health Coordinator. He/she will provide advice and assistance in the eleven
countries (Benin, Cameroon, Central Africa Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Niger, Nigeria, Tchad, Togo) of the region in offering health services through the operation of Medical Centres and health programs on conceptual, programmatic and administrative matters. He/she shall based at the Regional office of the organisation in Yaounde.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-          Develop and support the operation of Medical Centres and health programs.
-          Monitor the implementation of minimum standards in accordance with international and  continental guidelines on health promotion, prevention and preparedness for the operation of health programs.
-          Supervise health programme implementation and ensure that it is progressing in line with the overall national framework and agreed strategies, proposals, budgets.
-          Assure that an appropriate monitoring system is in place to track progress and deviations of programme implementation, as well as to ensure timely and accurate reporting and invoicing for all programs and/or contracts.
PROFILE
-          A master’s degree in Public Health.
-          5 years of relevant health experience, with a proven track record of success.
-          Strong technical knowledge of public health care.
-          Strong interpersonal, creative communication skills and the ability to relate to different cultures.
-          Highly organized and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
-          Fluent in French and English.
-          Ready to travel up to 50% within the region.
