Our client, as part of the initiatives to achieve improving its service quality and re-positioning in the industry seeks to recruit focused, energetic, results-oriented and suitably qualified professionals to fill the following positions in its composite insurance subsidiary:
Job Title: Head of Marketing

Reporting to the Managing Director/CEO, the ideal candidate will have oversight responsibility for the company’s marketing activities. He/she will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies with a view to increasing the company’s market share and profitability.
Specifically, the candidate will:
• Plan and implement the overall marketing strategy, as well as, co¬ordinate marketing and sales efforts within the company.
• Manage overall business relationships of the composite company to maximize revenue and profit, and achieve key performance targets of various business segments in the company.
• Lead the business development initiatives of the company for sustainable growth and development.
• Design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan for the company.
• Support and facilitate development and implementation of section business/marketing plans.
• Carry out market and competitor research and analysis ensuring that the company’s products and services meet consumer needs and are top of the market.
• Develop and coordinate comprehensive publicity and promotional strategies for the company’s products and services.
• Monitor and ensure the efficiency of the company’s new businesses, policy servicing and claims settlement systems.
• Identify opportunities to deepen relationships with clients and partners through marketing campaigns, events and partnerships.
• Develop and manage new distribution channels for effective and efficient distribution of company’s products.
• Lead the development of marketing budgets and manage the company’s marketing operating budget.
• Create new business opportunities and products through creativity and innovation as well as convert leads into new business for the company.
Qualifications, experience and attributes
• A good first degree or its equivalent in any discipline from a reputable institution
• Higher degree(s) in Marketing or Business Studies and other relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage (e.g. ACII, AIIN etc.)
• Minimum of twelve (12) years’ post qualification experience in the insurance services sector of which at least five (5) years’ must have been at senior management positions
• Strong leadership and consensus building skills; marketing management and strategic planning experience marketing plan for the company.
• Extensive experience in marketing and sales of both general and life insurance products
• Proven track record in developing and administering marketing programmes
• Ability to identify, develop, set up and explore new sales channels
• Experience in motivating and managing corporate and agency sales forces
• Excellent business and commercial acumen, customer service orientation and knack for breaking new grounds
