USAID’s Infant & Young child Nutrition Project
VACANCY
Nigeria Country Coordinator for the Infant and Young Child Nutrition Project (IYCN), a USAID funded project being implemented by the program for Appropriate Technologies for Health, based in Abuja. IYCN is focused on improving the quality of nutritional services, especially related to OVC and infant feeding in the context of HIV and AIDS. IYCN provides technical support to the FMOH and PEPFAR PMTCT and OVC implementing partners.
Responsibilities:
• Provide in-country leadership, management and coordinate program activities
• Provide overall stategic direction to the IYCN project in Nigeria
• Serve as primary liason between the project and the FMOH, USAID/Nigeria, CDC/Nigeria, WHO, UNICEF and other development partners.
Required Skills:
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Ability to direct and manage change, inspire team work and motivate staff and partners to achieve results.
• Ability to manage and sustain Operational systems and procedures.
• Ability and willingness to travel within country and internationally as necessary.
Required Experience/Qualification:
• Medical Doctor with experience in HIV and nutrition or PhD level nutritionist with HIV expertise is preferred, with a minimum of a masters degree in nutrition or other advanced degree in public health or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in the development, implementation, and management of infant and young child nutrition, MCH or HIV/AIDS programming.
• Proven knowledge of key USG regulations and previous experience with USAID or NGO programs preferred.
• Preference given to national candidates.
