4 Vacant Positions in an Imported Grocery Distributor

A wholesale distributor of imported world class grocery brands. The company holds the franchise for a number of top quality international brands and urgently requires the services of entrepreneurial business managers to meet the strategic market growth objectives.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
• The Business Development Manager will be expected to confront the initial challenge of getting a foothold for these brands in the market and nurturing them to market leadership.

• He will take responsibility for the management of the company’s depot located in the major towns in the country and the profitable operation of the business.
• He will be based in Lagos and report to the MD.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A good bachelor's degree in business or any of the social sciences
• Not less than seven years experience in redistribution sales of fast moving consumer goods (fmcg) brands: a minimum of three at middle management level in a structured organization.
• Experience as a branch / depot manager in any of the wholesale distribution companies of any of the conglomerates will be a major advantage.
• Proven track record of achievement in previous management positions.
• Good knowledge of the market for groceries in the country is a requirement and will not be compromised.
• Entrepreneurial skills• ability to do the right things in whatever circumstances to achieve the profit objectives of tile company.
• An infectious positive attitude toward achievement of seemingly daunting objectives.


ACCOUNTS AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting function and providing administrative / logistic support for the management of the depots and liaison between Head Office and the sales depots.
• He will report to the Business Development Manager and will be based in Lagos.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A good bachelor’s degree / HND in accounting and membership of any recognized professional accounting body.
• lCAN or any other recognized professional accounting qualification.
• Not less three years post qualification experience in a structured commercial organization.
• Good hands on experience of any accounting package. Peach Tree, Sage, Tally etc.


DEPOT SALES EXECUTIVES
• The successful candidates will report to the Business Development manager and will be posted to manage any of the sales depots in Lagos, Onitsha, Aba, and Kano. They will be responsible for the profitable operation of the depot sales territory through the achievement of the sales and distribution objectives of the company.
• They will ensure the effective management of the various tiers of the trade channels to ensure good shelf presence for the company's brands.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A good bachelor's degree / HND in business, the natural and social sciences
• A minimum of two years experience as a Senior Sales Representative in an fmcg company.
• Entrepreneurial skills - ability to get the right things done in all circumstances to advance the profit objective of the company.
• Track record of achievements in previous employments.
• Good knowledge of the territory applied for is a requirement and will not be compromised.

DEPOT SALES ASSISTANTS
• The successful candidates will be posted to assist the Depot Sales Executives in Lagos, Onitsha, Aba and Kano.
• They will be charged with the responsibility of invoicing and assisting the OSE to achieve good distribution for the brands in their sales territories.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of OND in business studies and not less than one year experience in sales / merchandizing.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills
• Good numeracy and a knack for dealing with figures.
