Personal Assistant/Secretary to the Registrar Needed For Employment

Our Client, a newly established independent examination body saddled with the responsibility of providing a unified syllabus and conducting a qualitative examinations for candidates seeking Direct Entry admissions into tertiary institutions.
 
The aim of this body is to play a leading role in researching, developing and delivering assessment to Federal, State and private universities as well as interested foreign tertiary institution.

Job Title: Personal Assistant/Secretary to the Registrar
The role of Personal Assistant to the Registrar is to provide invaluable clerical and administrative support in order to assist and facilitate the efficient discharge of responsibilities attached to the office of the Registrar

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organises the Registrar's meetings, visits, lunches and diaries to ensure effective and productive use of time
  • Prepares routine correspondence and reports on behalf of the Registrar/Chief Executive
  • Attends meetings with the Registrar and acts as Secretary to ensure proper documentation of minutes of the meetings
  • Liaises with the Directors and Heads of Departments on behalf of the Registrar/Chief Executive
  • Coordinates to ensure all visitors to the Registrar's office are properly attended to
  • Prepares and distributes relevant reports or documents to Heads of Departments and Directors; follows up on responses and communicates to the Registrar as required
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to manage workload under pressure and to tight deadlines
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of four (4) years relevant post qualification experience with at least two years’ experience as a Personal Assistant to a Senior Management position.
  • A first degree from a recognized institution with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.

Job Title: Senior Test Officers
The test officers will develop, commission, moderate, critique, field test and carry out item analysis in each subject

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops, commissions, moderates, critiques, field tests and conducts item analysis in each subject
  • Plans for the conduct of, and administers the Board’s Examinations in various Centres across the country
  • Oversees the accreditation and supervision of operations in various Affiliate Centre
  • Ensure the integrity and security of tests are maintained and that they are supervised to the required standard.
  • Comply with all incident reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Maintain own competencies in all of the systems and procedures – requesting training as necessary.
  • Ensure personal responsibility for understanding and delivery of testing following updates and changes to requirements / testing, as they occur.
  • Responsible for overseeing the accreditation and supervision of operations in various Affiliate Centres
  • Periodic downloads and review of examinations and test centre schedules.
  • Liaise with test developers and coordinators to put together a good test question bank
  • Explain the test process to candidates and deal with other queries as required.
  • Support and deliver any events and alternative test delivery processes as defined, both in permanent and temporary locations.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum qualification of a Masters Degree in the following subjects: Mathematics or Physics; Chemistry; Social Science Subjects and Arts Subjects
  • Applicant must have at least 5 years’ experience as an Examiner/Moderator for an Examination body, a University system or a relevant department.
  • Extensive teaching experience at a senior level
  • Examination administration at a senior level

Job Title: Registrar/CEO
The overall responsibility of the Registrar is to ensure the successful implementation of the Board’s mandate of conducting credible and standard examinations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures compliance with all laws, Board policies and civil regulations
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
  • Participate in the development of the organisation's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
  • Enhances and/or develops implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organisation by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organisation and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges
  • Ensures successful implementation of the Board’s mandate of conducting credible and standard examinations for Direct Entry candidates in Universities’ Foundation or Diploma Programmes
  • Manages, evaluates and supervises effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the organisation
QUALIFICATION
  • Applicant must be a professor with a minimum of 15 years post Ph.D. experience, some of which must have been at management level in a University or an Examinations body.
  • A minimum of a Ph.D. degree in related discipline.
