Job Title: PROJECT MANAGER - VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT
Job Location: Cross River
Functions & Duties
1. Consult key stakeholders to ensure selection of the ideal value chains and pilots LGAs to promote youth entrepreneurship in forestry, eco-agriculture, aquaculture and eco-tourism
2. Mobilize key stakeholders in the LGAs for the assessments and implementation of the value chain development activities
3. Develop and implement market assessments for key products and services of targeted value chains in the natural resource sectors.
4. Conduct participatory value chain assessment and design of pilot interventions in forestry, eco-agriculture, aquaculture and eco-tourism
5. Lead firm-level assessments of private partners and organizations who can act as a lead firms in targeted value chains in forestry, eco-agriculture, aquaculture and eco-tounsm
6. Provide support and training to selected partners and civil society organizations on value chain development
7. Mobilize, train and oversee international and community volunteers for technical support in value chain development to CSOs, the private sector, producers organizations and youth from targeted LGAs
8. Work collaboratively with all members of the Project Team in order to coordinate and maximize efficiency of the project activities
9. Manage allocated budget in compliance with the procedures and policies of Cuso International
Requirements
1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in business, agribusiness, economics, natural resource management, rural development or a related field;
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in market assessment, value chain mapping and analysis and business development in the natural resources and agricultural sectors for youth entrepreneurship and employment;
3. Knowledge of value chain development methodology and practice;
4. Proven track record in managing Value Chain Development initiatives in the Natural Resource sector;
5. Experience working with lead firms and or collaboration with private sector in value chain development;
6. Experience in Market-led approaches in the natural resource sector;
7. Ability to work collaboratively, and build alliances with relevant groups, organizations, agencies, businesses, private or public sectors is highly important;
8. Experience and knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility programs and Shared Value approach;
9. Knowledge and experience in enterprise development and managing training programs or delivering/facilitating training;
10. Knowledge in gender equality mainstreaming, private sector development and SME start up and capacity building;
11. Experience in Project management and Team work.
Job Title: PROJECT SUPPORT & LOGISTICS OFFICER
Functions & Duties
1. Manage the process of visa/work permits extension for staff and volunteers, office registration;
2. Develop and maintain various Cuso International volunteer/partner/staff database as well keeping updated emergency folder with relevant information;
3. Prepare and distribute letter every two months to volunteers, partners and other stakeholder;
4. Lead on the development of volunteer In-country orientation/induction training materials;
5. Lead within the country office in organizing and managing logistics of meetings, project workshops, tours, international staff visits or other activities as required;
6. lead reference point in the office for ICT and ensuring adequate support is provided by liaising with Cuso International IT staff and external IT service providers as needed;
7. Ensure HR policies and procedures are updated and disseminated to all staff;
8. Support Admin Officer to ensure all staff are covered by appropriate insurance policies according to
Cuso guidelines and manage all processes related to staff insurance;
9. Manage with support from Finance and Admin manager, Cuso Nigeria Health and safety and emergency
procedure;
10. Prepare and manage monthly timesheet, attendance sheet, leave forms and vehicle log book, Equipment maintenance logbook. Management of fixed asset register, inventory list, vendors list, procurement policies and stock control;
11. Manage procurement for the office including tender announcement, quotation collection, organization of selection process, purchase and delivery;
12. Work with the Project Director and COlleagues, to take appropriate action to ensure volunteer's & staff safety at all times and especially in times of civil, military or natural disturbances;
Requirements
1. Diploma/Degree in Business Administration and lor experience related to job requirements;
2. Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the area of Administration and Volunteer management and/or support;
3. Experience providing excellent customer service and demonstrated commitment to volunteerism;
4. Efficient communication skills (verbal and written);
5. Excellent time management, planning and priority setting skills, and demonstrated initiative;
6. Effective, constructive and creative problem solving abilities;
7. Flexibility to adapt to new situations with a positive and professional attitude towards working within the organization's standards;
8. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with people from a variety of cultural, national & international backgrounds;
9. Preven commitment to mainstreaming Gender and equality issues within work.
10. ProfiCiency with Office Suite (Windows, Word, Power Point, Outlook) database and internet;
11. Willingness to travel within the 18 LGA's in Cross River state, Nigeria and/or Internationally;
