Due to growth an established group with over 70 years of experience of operating in Nigeria requires a highly experienced ex-patriate / western or european Operations Manager: Waste Paper Recycling / Production.
This position reports directly to the General Manger and the individual will have experience of working in the waste paper recycling and paper production industry.
The successful candidate will be professional, inspiring, self-motivated with a strong technical and educational background.
The role requires flexibility and a tough approach given the location.

Desired Skills and Experience
You will currently be in a senior role within a similar organisation and demonstrate a strong technical background with a leaning to and thorough understanding of the tissue production process, stock preparation, paper machines and waste collection.
• You will have a track record of achieving progressive growth: year on year within in their organisation whilst also displaying significant levels of business achievement in prior roles.
• You will possess the ability to effectively project manage and deliver any new processes or systems that should be implemented.
• You must possess adequate sales and marketing skills and be commercially astute as at a later date they may be required to oversee parts and procurement.
• You will be capable of influencing and managing a multicultural workforce, demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach operationally and be prepared to deliver and exceed the company’s objectives that deliver long-term sustainable benefits.
• A strong business leader and an effective communicator that has the ability to ensure there is communication and synergy between the various departments . production and technical.
• You will have the gravitas and influence to work closely with the GM providing support in his role and be able to operate autonomously.
• You must have a through understanding of the business displaying operational and technical ‘know how.”
• Preference will be given to candidates who display experience of working within similar businesses in emerging or developing markets whilst demonstrating a successful track record for all of the above.
