Jigawa State University – The Government of Jigawa State has established a University known as Jigawa State University at Kafin Hausa, Jigawa State. The University has gained the recognition of the National Universities Commission (NUC) as the 39th State University and 129th University in the Nigerian University System. It is a conventional University that will offer courses and conduct research in various areas of the Sciences, Education, Humanities and Management. Academic
activities will commence in the 2013/2014 academic session. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

CHIEF INTERNAL AUDITOR
A person seeking appointment as Chief Internal Auditor must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting and be a full member of ICAN or ANAN. In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software.
In addition to having a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR
A person seeking appointment as Senior Internal Auditor must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting. Possession of a higher degree and membership of the relevant professional body will be an advantage.
In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software. In addition to having a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR
A person seeking appointment as Principal Assistant Registrar must possess a good first degree and a good Master’s degree in Arts or Social Sciences in addition to having a minimum of 12 years’ experience in the management of tertiary education.
Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.
Candidates may be required to prove that they are Computer literate and active on the Internet.

ASSISTANT REGISTRAR
A person seeking appointment as Assistant Registrar must possess a good first degree in Arts or Social Sciences in addition to having a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the management of tertiary education.
Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.
Candidates may be required to prove that they are Computer literate and active on the Internet.

HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER
A person seeking appointment as Higher Executive Officer Accounts must possess a good Higher National Diploma degree or equivalent in Public Administration.
In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software.
In addition to having a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
A person seeking appointment as Administrative Assistant must possess a very good or good first degree in Arts or Social Sciences in addition to having completed the National Youth Service Corps scheme.
Candidates may be required to prove that they are Computer literate and active on the Internet.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTANT
A person seeking appointment as Principal Accountant must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting.
In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software.
In addition to having a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

ACCOUNTANT I
A person seeking appointment as Accountant I must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting.
Possession of a higher degree will be an advantage.
In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software.
In addition to having a minimum of 5 years experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

HIGHER EXECUTIVE OFFICER ACCOUNTS
A person seeking appointment as Higher Executive Officer Accounts must possess a good Higher National Diploma degree or equivalent in Accounting.
In addition, the person must demonstrate versatility in the use of relevant accounting software.
In addition to having a minimum of 10 yeas’ experience in the accounting profession, preferably in a tertiary educational institution, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

PRINCIPAL LIBRARIAN
Candidates seeking appointment as Principal Librarian must possess a good first degree and a higher degree, preferably a Doctorate degree in library and Information Science.
The person must also be fully registered by the relevant professional body, the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria.
In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a track record of academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.
In addition to having a minimum of 14 years’ experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess advanced ICT skills and leadership qualities appropriate to a key learning resource centre in the information age.

SENIOR LIBRARIAN
Candidates seeking appointment as Senior Librarian must possess a good first degree and a higher degree, in Library and Information Science. The person must also be fully registered by the Librarians Registration Council of Nigeria.
In addition, the candidate must have some academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.
In addition to having a minimum of 9 years’ experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess advanced ICT skills.

LIBRARIAN I
Candidates seeking appointment as Librarian I must possess a good first degree in Library and Information Science. In addition, the candidate must have some academic publications in refereed journals as evidence of research activity.
In addition to having a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

LIBRARIAN II
Candidates seeking appointment as Librarian II must possess a good first degree in Library and Information Science. In addition to having a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Candidates seeking appointment as Senior Librarian Officer must possess a High National Diploma in Library and Information Science. In addition to having a minimum of 2 years experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

LIBRARY OFFICER
Candidates seeking appointment as Library Officer must possess a good National Diploma in Library and Information Science.
In addition, to having a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a higher institution library, the candidate must possess ICT skills.

COMPUTER OPERATOR
A Candidate seeking appointment as Computer Operator must possess a National Diploma in Computer Studies.
In addition to having a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the use of Computers in an office setting, the person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY II
Candidates seeking appointment as confidential secretary II must possess BSc/HND in Secretarial Studies/Administration, candidate must be computer literate.

CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY III
A Candidate seeking appointment as Confidential Secretary Ill must possess National Diploma in Secretariat Studies.
In addition he should be Computer Literate and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as Confidential Secretary.
The person must also show evidence of a track record of personal and professional integrity.

DIRECTOR PHYSICAL PLANNING
A Candidate seeking for appointment as Director PP and MS must possess a masters degree in Architecture or a good first degree in Civil Eng or Building and must be registered or be registrable with architects registration council of Nigeria (ARCON) or Council for the Regulation of Engineerin9 in Nigeria (COREN).
In addition, the candidate must have 15 years cognate working experience in a similar institution. Computer literacy is an added advantage.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
A Candidate seeking appointment as Electrical Engineer must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, register-able with Council of Registered Engineers of Nigerian (COREN).
A working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

CIVIL ENGINEER
A Candidate seeking appointment as Civil Engineer must possess a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, registered with Council of Registered Engineers of Nigerian (COREN).
In addition working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER
A Candidate seeking appointment as Mechanical Engineer must possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, and must be register able with Council of Registered Engineers of Nigerian (COREN).
In addition, working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be computer Literate.

ARCHITECT
A Candidate seeking appointment as Architect must possess a degree in Architecture obtained from a University recognised by the Architect Registration Council (ARCON).
In addition, working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR
A Candidate seeking appointment as Quantity Surveyor must possess a degree in Quantity Surveyor obtained from recognised University by the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
In addition, working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

SYSTEM ANALYST/PROGRAMMER
A Candidate seeking appointment as System Analyst must possess a degree in Computer Science or Statistics.
A working experience is an added advantage and Candidate should be not only be Computer Literate but have in-depth knowledge of Computer Programmes.

HEAD COACH
A Candidate seeking appointment as Head Coach must possess a degree in Physical Health Education obtained from recognised University. In addition, to having a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a Coaching Career at a recognised Institution and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

DIRECTOR OF HOSPITAL SERVICES
A candidate seeking appointment as Director Hospital Services in the University must possess a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent from a recognized University within or outside the country with fifteen years Post Basic Qualification experience.
He must possess an up to date Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
A postgraduate qualification in Public Health will be an advantage.

PHARMACIST
A candidate seeking appointment as Pharmacist must possess a B.Pharm degree from a recognized University and must be Registrable with the Pharmacists Registration Council of Nigeria, plus one year post-Registration Cognate experience.

MEDICAL OFFICER
A Candidate seeking appointment as Medical Officer must possess a degree in Medicine registrable with the Medical and Dental Council (MDC).
In addition to having a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical Practice at recognised Institution and Candidate should be Computer Literate.

NURSING OFFICER II
A candidate seeking appointment as Nursing Officer II must possess a Bachelors degree in Nursing Science from a recognized University and must be registered or registrable with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

NURSING SUPERINTENDENT
A candidate seeking appointment as Nursing Superintendent must possess the NRN Qualification from a recognized Nursing School within the Country and duly Registrable with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
A post Basic Qualification in Midwifery will be an added advantage.

TECHNOLOGIST
A Candidate seeking appointment as Technologist must possess B.Sc. degree or HND in Science Laboratory Technology with 3 years relevant experience. Holders of ANIST, AIST with six (6) years experience may also apply. Holders of Masters Degree in relevant areas are also eligible to apply.
Candidate must be registered or registrable with the relevant professional bodies.

LABORATORY SCIENTIST
A candidate seeking appointment as Laboratory Scientist must possess a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) and must be registered or registrable with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

DATA PROCESSING OFFICER
A Candidate seeking appointment as Data Processing Officer must possess Ordinary National Diploma In Computer Studies or Data Processing from a recognized Institution.
In addition, Candidate should be Computer Literate.
