POSTED POSITION TITLE: Development of energy projects – Project Manager
ROLE SUMMARY / PURPOSE:
GE Energy recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of power.The aim of the MoU is to develop Nigeria 10GW together more than 10 years with the Fed Govt of Nigeria and promoters energy of the private sector. The MOU development team implementing partner of the MoU by origin, structuring and execution of projects additional electricity that will drive profitable growth for GE Energy in Nigeria production. Development will include outreach initiatives and partnership efforts focused internally
Essential Responsibilities: The role of Project Manager will target greenfield projects and expansion in the segment of power generation, including independent producers, exapansion NIPP, PHCN privatization, captive industrial self and other opportunities for distributed power applications. The Project Manager will work within the development team of the project, leading or assisting as needed depending on the size and complexity fo the project, project management and project manage key contracts with a focus on accelerated development of bankable projects by working with other team members, including capital markets legal / compliance, debt and equity. The Project Manager will work with the project partner, coordinate resource support functional teams Energy Financial Services and GE Commercial inclusive sales team equipment and GPO / EPC Relationship Manager. This position will report to the head of project development.
ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Identify, screen, select and negotiate new project development opportunities for GE Energy.
Identify, monitor and bargains and business opportunities structure
To promote the progress of existing projects or supporting the co-developer and / or taking development initiatives as required from time to time.
Protect GE Africa’s interest both inside and outside the contractual arrangements.
Monitoring project progress and budgets and reporting team.
Support sell-up activities on transactions or projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
University degree, preferably in engineering and / or finance.
MBA or Masters degree in a related field.
The experience of minimum 10 years in the position of similar infrastructure (Power) with experience to lead the development and implementation of power projects in emerging markets particualry structural IPP kind. , Solid understanding of key stakeholders, including environmental project development, EPC and IPP agreements.
Agreements, management of consultants and subcontractors, land transactions, procedures, project finance structures and financial models.
Dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and pro-active.
Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work well with diverse teams, cross-functional.
The proven project management and financial skills in financial modellling, analysis and cost / budget.
Strong negotiation techniques and communication.
Computer literate (MS Project Word / Excel / Power Point).
Ability to influence and drive change through exceptional communication skills written and verbal. Documented tendency to challenge the status quo and drive constant improvement in progress and its ability to achieve organizational goals.
Great presentation skills, able to present ideas in a way that produces understanding and impact.
Ability to solve complex problems in the specified area. Ability to develop and execute multiple priorities and approaches to achieve the objectives. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across a distributed workforce.
