COORDINATOR, PLANNING, STRATEGY AND PROGRAMME EFFECTIVENESS (1 YEAR FIXED TERM-RENEWABLE)
This role will coordinate the development and implementation of realistic and achievable strategic plans by ensuring that all country programme activities are properly harmonized. The post holder will monitor progress against these plans and support the country senior management team by providing performance monitoring feedback on agreed indicators/benchmarks. S/he will ensure learning derived from performance feedback is applied towards improving WaterAid and partners programme effectiveness. The role will oversee strategic relationship building and lines manage in-country fundraising activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate for this position would possess a university degree plus a Masters in the numerate, social/management sciences or development studies. She/he should posses a minimum seven years of work experience, at least three years of which should be in a senior/leadership role with oversight for program monitoring and evaluation in a development sector setting. In addition, the candidate would possess experience gained from a fundraising OR grant management role in an international development context or alternately, demonstrate a clear understanding of in-country fundraising potential and opportunities to support WASH projects. At least 3 years of experience providing direct leadership and supportive supervision to a team with diverse professional backgrounds and strong IT skills are also key requirements for this role.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR, SUSTAINABLE TOTAL SANITATION-NIGERIA (STS-NIGERIA) PROJECT (1-YEAR FIXED TERM-RENEWABLE)
This role will oversee programme planning and delivery; programme monitoring and reporting: communication & partnership liaison and staff management on a new programme which seeks to consolidate WaterAid's years of work to improve effectiveness, efficiency, inclusiveness and sustainability of sanitation approaches in 3 states of Nigeria. This position will be expected to provide day to day coordination towards achievement of the project goals and ensuring the integration of the project's activities with broader WaterAid in Nigeria programme priorities.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal person for this position would possess an undergraduate and Master's
degrees in the natural, physical or social sciences; minimum 10 years of experience,
of which at least 5 of which MUST be in a senior development programme management or coordination role; strong demonstrable experience in the effective management and delivery of complex community based development projects with multiple stakeholder In a developing country context; experience with managing multiple project stakeholders including community level stakeholders, government officials; donors etc; excellent competencies in writing project reports; strong demonstrable experience with managing people in a direct supervisory role and strong experience with implementation of an action learning and research project in a development setting.
PROGRAM SUPPORT COORDINATOR
The role will support the Head of Programmes in ensuring quality program delivery by WaterAid and its partners. This will include responsibility for coordinating the development and implementation of realistic and achievable annual State Programme Plans; effective tracking of progress against these plans; support to the Programme Monitoring & Evaluation team towards ensuring timely delivery of agreed work plans by partners: ensuring effective information flow between WaterAid and its partners; promoting learning among partners and ensuring WaterAid programme principles such as equity and inclusion and sustain ability are mainstreamed in partners work.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement is a university degree + Master's degree in the natural, engineering and social sciences or other relevant field. Possession of a minimum of seven years work experience at least three of which must be in a development program management/coordination role is key to this role. The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate a sound understanding and experience working with and managing partnerships with civil society and governmental stakeholders to implement development projects. The ideal candidate would also demonstrate strong competencies in writing project reports of excellent quality for diverse audiences and have at least 3 years experience working in the WASH sector.
HEAD OF FINANCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The role will provide strategic leadership of financial and Information Technology support functions of WaterAid Nigeria and ensure effective application of WaterAid financial and IT policies and procedures in collaboration with other members of the country senior management team and WaterAid UK. The Head of Finance & IT will also support partner organizations in ensuring they develop and apply generally acceptable accounting practices in their financial activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement from our ideal candidate is a University degree in Accounting and membership of an internationally recognized accounting body i.e. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (lCAN), ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CPA, Possession of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or Masters in Public Administration (MPA) would be a distinct advantage. In addition to the qualifications, the candidate must possess a minimum of ten years post qualification experience of which five would be in a senior management position in an international NGO sector. The candidate will demonstrate an excellent track record of experience in preparing accurate accounting reports to a diverse range of audiences under tight deadlines; at least 5 years experience in providing leadership and supportive supervision to a professional team with varying levels of competencies and maturity; experience working in a multi-cultural setting and strong knowledge of Sun Accounting software package.
