Job Title: Financial Reporting Accountant
Lekki Concession Company is an initiative of ARM Group of Companies is a Special Purpose Vehicle set up specifically to execute the Lekki Toll Road Concession Project.
Role Purpose:
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures for the Lekki Concession Company Ltd (“LCC”) and for the the project.
Reports to: Head of Finance
Interpersonal/Leadership:
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively balancing multiple concurrent assignments.
Ability to proactively identify process improvement opportunities and engage in implementing improvements.
Capable of being entrusted with “Confidential” information.
Demonstrated ability to “think outside of the box” while identifying problems and recommending solutions.
Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
Ability to coach, motivate and lead others.
Ability to cultivate an environment focused on customer satisfaction.
Ability to establish career development plans with direct reports by identifying development goals, milestones and measures.

Functional:
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to present complex financials to executive leadership.
Knowledge of Nigerian GAAP, IFRS, regulatory practices, and company policy.
Excellent planning, time management and organizing skills.
Key Accountabilities
General ledger accounting; Subsidiary Ledgers Accounting
Revenue recognition
Ensure compliance with any and all financial, lenders and contract reporting requirements for the company and regulatory agencies
Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for both LCCL and the Projects.
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems
Monitor and ensure comparability of actual costs and expenses with both Financial and operating Costs models; and reporting variances as they occur.
Ensure complete and up-to-date operating procedures for all accounting and financial controls.
Lead a team of staff responsible for the production of management accounts and reports
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and produce relevant financial and management reports
Documentation of business transactions
Maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Provide accounting policy orientation for all stakeholders
Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits. Ensure maintenance of effective internal controls to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.
Other Reporting Responsibilities
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required:
Experience of implementing accounting / financial ERP systems a plus
10+ years prior accounting/finance related job experience, including at fairly senior level.
Experience in a customer service environment is a plus
B Sc Graduate with minimum 8 years accounting post-ICAN/ACCA experience. MBA desired.
Experience managing financials in a project-oriented environment is a plus
Technical:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
Experience with financial tracking and control aspects of project management.
Familiarity with financial tracking and control tools and concepts.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office especially spreadsheet and presentation software required.
Knowledge and experience of financial ERP systems a plus.
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
