SFH: Asst Mgr, Documentation and Archiving (Abuja)

Position: Assistant Manager, Documentation and Archiving (Abuja) email to: amarch@sfhnigeria.org

Job Profile

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, this person will have the primary responsibility of collecting, collating and documenting existing materials electronically in an easily retrievable manner and will arrange and describe these selected records in order to allow efficient and effective access and retrieval. H/She will work with the Information Technology departments to preserve records and apply basic conservation techniques to those which are possibly deteriorating or damaged. In addition, the candidate will also be responsible for the comprehensive numbering and sub-numbering of documents, the supervision of research archiving using documents and security microfilm; ensure proper storage and retrieval of information, surveillance and physical security of data, and video analytics processing. Finally, s/he will assist in the management of SFH website and will provide advice to management on archiving and documentation as required.

Qualifications/Experience:

    Minimum Academic/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
    Must possess a first degree in Library Science/Management Information Systems or Demography.
    A Masters degree in Information Systems or Library Science will be added advantage.
    Must possess a minimum of five (5) years post NYSC experience in electronic archiving systems.
    Must have proven experience and strong skills in data management and administration.
    Experience in planning and facilitation of training for different cadres of staff in archiving will be of added advantage.
    Must have good oral, analytical, interpretive and written comprehension skills, strong capacity building skills and willingness to train.
    Must have hands-on awareness of the required scope of the needed work environment and the attendant equipment necessary for the job.
