VACANCY
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified Nigerians to fill the vacant post of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute.

DUTIES
The successful canditate will be responsible to the Governing Board for the attainment of the goals and objectives of the institute.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The Canditate must possess a Ph.D Degree with a minimum of seventeen(17) years post graduate cognate experience. The degree and experience must be in the fields of Building Technology, Civil/Highway Engineering, Materials Engineering, Architecture and other related fields with at least twenty (20) published Technical Papers in reputable journals plus at least twenty(20) conference/seminar Papers(produced).

In addition, the canditate must have attained the rank of Director of research, CONTISS 15 (GL 17) or its equivalent in a similar Insitution and has an ability to offer effective leadership in an academic environment.

Registration with relevant professional bodies in the related field and demonstrable evidence of computer literacy are mandatory.
DUTIES
The Director-General/Chief Executive is responsible to the Governing Board of the Insitute and will perform the following duties:
 -Day to day management of the insitute;
-Provision of leadership in research and consultancy in building, road and engineering materials;
-Liaison with national and international organization and insitutions in the area of Research and Development;
-Aggressive commercialization of research finddings; and
-Any other duties that may be assigned to him from time to time by the Governing Board of the Insitute.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The conditions of service are the same as those applicable to similar positions in Federal Governemnt Research Institutes and Plytechnics in Nigeria.
